As a Church family, our commitment to you is a joyful privilege we carry from the heart of God. The reason we exist as a Church is to follow the example of Jesus….
1. To GATHER people together in order that the prayer of Jesus: “Father that they might be one, even as You and I are one…to let the world know that You have sent me…and that Your glory may be seen” may be answered.
2. To LOVE and accept you just as you are, right where you are, for what you are. Our love for you is unconditional and we want to surround you with a sense of acceptance and belonging.
3. To MEND and recover you from any points of hurt, distortion, fear, bondage, torment or imbalance in the way you think, feel, behave or choose to live. Jesus loves us where we are but takes us to where we are intended to be.
4. To TRAIN and instruct you in the many ways God thinks, feels and moves as revealed to us in the Bible, so that you are better able to understand and obey what Jesus has taught.
5. To RELEASE you into a particular cause of life and ministry service God has chosen for you and for which He has gifted you. The whole family is benefited when each part fulfils its particular role.
We believe passionately that the ministry of the Word and the Worship of God is vital to the spiritual life of the Church. The bible says:
Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.
(Psalm 100)
The style of our worship is lively, joyful and reflective. We use a mixture of both old and new songs in expressing our heart to God. We are fortunate to have so many gifted young people in our praise and worship group. This is lead by Philip Lyndon-Jones who also devotes a lot of his time to teach and encourage the musicians. Regular rehearsals take place at the Elim Church on a fortnightly basis.
